This little one is stunning and this image of her stopped me in my tracks. Its a definite favorite from this recent session.
I had the honor of photographing Erin and Shaun’s wedding in December. It was such a beautiful day at the Manor House in Horsham. Although is was an extremely windy and cold day, the girls braved the cold for some outdoor portraits and I was happy the sun cooperated and came out from behind the clouds for a little while. Erin and Shaun decided to keep with tradition and did not see each other before the ceremony. However, we were a little creative and I was still able to get some portraits of them “together”. They stood on separate sides of a wall/room divider for a few portraits. I couldn’t image the self-restraint that takes to know you are that close, you can talk each other and not sneak a little peek at your future spouse! Congratulations to you both and I wish you a lifetime of love and happiness!
You know how after you stop doing something for a while, its that much harder to get back to doing it. Well, that would be the case with blogging. A normal busy fall turned into a busier holiday season, followed by the cold depressing winter months, where getting out of a warm bed deserves an award. And now, here I am, months since my last blog post. My lack of blogging isn’t due to the lack of beautiful portraits of families, kids and weddings to share. Its actually a little embarrassing how many portrait sessions I’ve never shared. Well, things are about to change! And I’m not going to make any promises, at least not yet, but I might even bring back some past weekly posts that I had on my blog in the past.
But, before diving in some of my past and recent favorites, I thought I would ease back into the blogging world by sharing a recent (as in taken less than an hour ago) one of my girls. They are growing so fast and I just wish I could slow down time. They will say to each other, at random times “Best big (or little) sister ever!” while giving hugs. They are so good to each other and I love hearing them giggling and playing together. This image capture their relationship perfectly me…the protective older sister, with her arm around her little sis, who is always so full of giggles.
I’ve had the honor of photographing them several times over the years and I so enjoy seeing the children grow. The fact is I adore this family. And I loved everything about this session. It ranks up there as one of my favorites!!
Want to know the reason why my blogging has been so lacking in recent months? Because sometimes I just don’t know what to write. Its hard to to come up with fun post titles. And then I need to try and sound smart, witty and funny in my posts. Its not easy. I have never been a great writer. My spelling is horrible (thank goodness for spell check) and I’m sure my grammar could be improved. But, I do love to show the beautiful children and families that I have the honor to photograph. It is really is such an honor, to be trusted with your memories. It is so important to preserve this time. To capture your family, at this stage. You kids won’t always be this little. And here is a wonderful family I recently photographed. I’m so glad it finally worked out and I was able to capture these moments for them!!
